It's Time

It's time to see depression as a real illness, to know it's not a lack of personal effort, it's not a lack of goodness. It is painful, dark, disabling and life threatening.

It’s time to be okay with darkness, to recognize its purpose, to embrace your journey, and to search for and welcome the light.

It’s time to fill the emptiness, to reach out to others, to know you are not alone, And to offer compassion to yourself as you would another.

It’s time to ignore that negative voice in your head, to let go of guilt and shame, to not take counsel from fear, and to place your trust in God.

It’s time to shed those tears, to see the heart space that pain has created for hope to spring up, faith to grow and love to be invited in.

It's time to say, "I matter," to see miracles, to rest, to run to forgive, to express gratitude. To choose joy, to praise life and to become the best you.
