After giving my PowerPoint presentation on “Depression Awareness and Ideas for Wellness,” people have asked me for my slides. Here are the slides that I think are most helpful:
Things I Do to Maintain Wellness:
- Pray for strength and guidance 2. Take my medications daily. 3. Eat well & sleep well 4. Have a tool kit to help me 5. Practice thinking techniques that my therapist has taught me 6. Make up a daily and weekly schedule 7. Put visual cues around my home – Never give up – Take small steps 8. Practice mindfulness 9. Movement & tennis 10. Practice self-compassion 11. Write/Journal 12. Look for joy 13. Do something creative 14. Listen to music/podcasts/talks 15. Show gratitude
