Grammy’s Glasses Instinctively He Knows He Is Funny.
“Nothing really completes an outfit like giant oversized shades.”
My arms are just not long enough anymore and the words on the page are hard to make out. I want to blame the book, but finally decided that I need reading glasses. Yet, I still continued to live in denial and refuse to buy a pair. At this same time, my son Chase who was on a mission for our church in Ukraine mailed me a bunch of photos. I was excited as I opened my mailbox to see the package. I ripped open it open only to be disappointed that he took terrible photos, they were all blurry! I showed my daughter Hannah and complained, “Chase doesn’t know how to use his camera.”
Confused she asked, “What don’t you like about the photos Mom?” “They look fine to me.”
That was when I surrendered and went out and bought my first pair of reading glasses. I say first pair because I have now purchased many. Anyone who has reading glasses knows that you must have a pair in every room of the house and you still can’t seem to find any when you need them!
This is my favorite Grammy’s glasses stories: Tyler grabs my glasses and puts them on, even at age two he instinctively knows he is funny. And he is right. I laugh and laugh. Then Caleb, 5, wants in on the game and the two fight over the glasses, until I can coax them away from Tyler. Caleb puts them on and Tyler and I burst out laughing. It may appear silly to laugh, but it is funny. Mark on the other hand at the age of 7, wants to play the game, but has to weigh being cool against putting on the glasses. He finally does, but gives us a look, that tells us not to laugh. We laugh anyway. Tyler, through with being patient and waiting for another turn, grabs the glasses and puts them on, this time a little crooked on purpose. He laughs at himself and I laugh too. It really is funny!
