Still Smiling The Chicago Cubs - World Series Champs

“Cubs Win! Cubs Win!”

I have had a smile on my face for months now.  Who knew the crack of a bat would call my name and I would become a huge Cubs fan who prayed over every pitch in the World Series!

November 2, 2016, The Chicago Cubs played The Cleveland Indians in  a nail-biting, hair pulling, hit your head against the wall, kind of game! I paced and paced across the floor. Come on Cubbies this is it!  And it was it! We jumped up and down and screamed when the game was finally won by the Chicago Cubs, after going into a 10th inning and a rain delay!! The final score was 8-7, For the Cubs! The Indians lost by a narrow margin.  My Grandpa Don VanDam, a big Cubs fan, would have been so happy to have seen this!

It was one o’clock in the morning, and I had to celebrate, so I took my grandson Mark to McDonald’s for chocolate milk shakes. We sang “Go Cubs Go” all night long! I made him promise he would get up on time for school the next morning, since I had coaxed his Mom “Come on Katie, History is going to be made tonight!” into letting him stay up for the game!  Mark, my husband was on a business trip, so we cheered with him by texting and face-timing!  It was a night to remember!

All of Chicago is celebrating and you can buy Cubs Championship paraphernalia in any store and on street corners.  I can hardly believe it!  The goat is dead and The Cubs are the World Series champs!  So proud of the Cubbies for pulling off a difficult season and series!  Go Cubs Go!  Fly the “W” The Loveable Winners!!
